Wallis Bird March 9th 2012

Wallis Bird - New Album Release 9th March 2012 - We are excited to announce that Wallis Bird's new Album "Wallis Bird" will be released at the 9th March 2012, followed by extenisve touring all over Europe with more than 40 dates.

Anais Mitchell 17th February 2012

Anais will release her new album "Young Man In America" at the 17th February 2012, we are thrilled.

David Lemaitre plays EuroSonic

We are excited to announce that David Lemaitre will play at Eurosonic Noorderslag 2012 in Groningen, Netherlands. He will attent with his band at Forum Images on January 13th from 20:40h-21:25h. We hope you don't miss the show, it's worth it. David Lemaitre will also play a show together with ucoming band Matthew And The Atlas on the 12th at Rotterdam, NL.

GET WELL SOON Album III in progress

Get Well Soon alias Konstantin Gropper is working hard on the upcoming album no. III. The pre-production is going places and the studio is booked for january. It will be released in mid 2012. We are all very excited.

In this issue of germany's biggest and coolest music magazine Musikexpress, the cover mount CD is Nirvana's Nevermind anniversary - 13 artists covering the complete record! We are very proud to announce that Karakter's Get Well Soon made a version of "Drain You" and Wallis Bird did a cover of "Lounge Act" get it now!

Anais Mitchell "Young Man In America"

After the epic album "Hadestown" and all the success it had across the states, UK & Europe we're happy to announce that Anais Mitchell finished the works on an upcoming album that will be called "Young Man In America".

comming up: Wallis Bird album No III. For this we launched Team Bird, a street team supporting the next album and campaign for it. First results look very promising. At the moment it is for fans in germany, austria and switzerland only but soon also for fans in the UK and Ireland!

LCMDF - TAKE ME TO THE MOUNTAINS

A pretty nice package is ahead of us. LCMDF from Finland are about to release a package for the upcoming single "Take Me To The Mountains" including remixes by Get Well Soon, Skeet Skeet, Derek Allen.

Konstantin Gropper is doing preperations for a Get Well Soon album to released around april 2012. We are all very excited and look forward to a beautiful record.

MAIFELD NO 2

We are proud to announce that we have a date for the 2nd Maifeld Derby Festival in Mannheim. It will be 18TH AND 19TH of MAY 2012!

WALLIS Video Shoot

Wallis and band are about to shoot promos for the upcoming album in Berlin's famous DDR Broadcasting studios, Nalepastrasse. The videos will be directed by Philipp Kaessbohrer who also did a brilliant job on Wallis last animated video for "To My Bones" first shots we saw are very exciting.

David Lemaitre Showcase

On the 14th of September, Karakter's new artist David Lemaitre will be showcasing at the Slaughtered Lamb London. We invite you all and hope to see you there. He will play as a three piece with Joda Foerster on drums and Philipp Thimm on Cello, Mandoline, Flute etc.

XANADU

The new Arte TV series XANADU premieres this saturday on Arte Germany & Arte France on 22:50h. It features a very great plot, a brilliant cast and the original soundtrack by our artist Get Well Soon for the whole season. The TV show is very dark and fans of Six Feet Under, Gus Van Sant etc will faint away. What is it about? Here is a quote from the Arte Homepage:

"Meet the Valdine family. They are just like any other family with their neuroses, conflicts and secrets, but there is one thing which differs: Alex Valadine is the don of an erotic empire that he build with the pornstar Elise Jess. Elise, his wife, muse and mother of his children had died under mysterious circumstances."

 

KARAKTER WELCOMES DAVID LEMAITRE

Ladies and Gents, we are very proud, happy and exhilerated to announce that David Lemaitre will join the Karakter artist roster and la familia! David was born and raised 3600 meters above the sea in La Paz, Bolivia. Growing up speaking 3 different languages his parents moved to the states, David ending up in Europe and currently he lives in Berlin. As many stations his life already had so far he inhaled also all different kinds of music from Kraftwerk, Noir Desir to Nick Drake, Elliot Smith, Radiohead, from intimate to explosive songs! New folk is dead, long lives new folk. In his live set he is joined by Philipp Thim on Cello/Glockenspiel, Synths and chopping board. He already released a beautiful EP (called "Valediction") and had his fist shows with artists like Chris Garneau, Broken Records and Get Well Soon in Germany, UK, France etc. We'll keep you posted on David and are on top of the world to team up with him.

2 GET WELL SOON SHOWS IN 2011

A Get Well Soon show is as rare in 2011 as a cat with 2 heads or 8-leaf-shamrock, but there will be 2 shows the end of july 2011. On the 29th at the Poolbar Festival in Feldkirch, Austria together with Altwenger and Kommando Elefant and on the 30th in Sesto al Reghena, Italy with The Devine Comedy.

The Maifeld Derby Festival was a brilliant and successful experience for Karakter Live and Karakter Worldwide in 2011.

Anais in Studio

Congratulations to Anais and art director Brian Grunert on receiving a Grammy nomination for the packaging of Hadestown. The packaging, which also includes the beautiful artwork of Peter Nevins, is nominated in the category Best Recording Package. Many congratulations to everyone.

Get Well Soon & XANADU

Konstantin just finished composing and producing the score music for the french-canadian series production "Xanadu", which will be shown from End April 2011 on (e.g. on Arte in France and Germany). We'll keep you posted with more information. The show is about a french family in the porn buisiness. Fans of Six Feed Under etc. will be thrilled.

Wallis Bird Solo Acoustic Tour and Festivals announced

We just announced the european solo acoustic tour of Wallis (around 20 dates in May) and the first festival shows for the summer.

Debut Album of The Life Between released with EMI

We are happy that the debut album "Colours Of Your Choice" of The Life Between was released together with EMI at the 18th March in Germany and will be released in Asia soon.

Karakter goes Music Festival

Anais Mitchell back in the studio

Grammy nominated artist Anais Mitchell is currently in the studio working on the follow-up to her critically acclaimed album 'Hadestown' and will be playing a short UK tour in May / June plus regular shows in the United States.

Wallis Bird - Studio and Live

Wallis is back in the Studio starting to work on her new album, which will be released in 2012. In May Wallis will play a Solo Acoustic tour in Europe including dates in the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria.

LCMDF ALBUM RELEASE

GET WELL SOON TOUR

Get Well Soon just finished the November and December Tour through Europe. Thank you all very much for the support, the sold out concerts and how smooth everything went. With over 80 concerts this year with around 30 000 people that saw Get Well Soon live, we are very happy to go into a live break at the first half of 2011. If you still want to see Get Well Soon, thanks to director Phillipp Kaessbohrer Get Well Soon was filmed with the big Orchester at the Konzerthaus Dortmund in 3D. We gave out free glasses for at on the tour and you can watch all that here: www.youwillgetwellsoon.com/3d. It works really good.

WALLIS TOUR 2010

After over 80 shows this year Wallis Bird finished her last tour for 2010 in Brussels. We'd like to say thanks to all the promoters and agents who helped make these shows so successful - and of course to all the people who came to them.

GET WELL SOON at 3Sat Show

Public german broadcasting station did a pilot for a nw music tv show they want to install called "Aufnahmezustand" and Get Well Soon was lucky to be the first ever band for that experiment. It turned out very beautiful, thanks to Sven and his production team. The concept is: a band in an old studio (DDR radio studios) with no special lightning, audience etc. - just music. It will air on the 18th of December at 3Sat 21:45h
